Last Homegrown – Cape Town 2012

Here is something that I completely forgot to blog about. Last year we (me, Ryan, Robin, Martin, Nikki, Preller and Sam) all drove down from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town to go to the last Homegrown party ever on nov 3rd. We only started driving at like 6pm so we got to Cape Town at about 4 in the morning haha. 2 cars 7 peeps. The next day we met up with Zané, Niki, Brett and Alisha to party. We went to the Last Homegrown ever and the next day we all drove back again. It’s about 8 hours one way to drive haha. So here are some photos and a video that my boyfriend and his brother made  from that party  - which was insane!! :)

Dinner at the Greek place.

So I went to the doctor here in Port Elizabeth today and they took some tests so I will know by next what’s going on. Hate it when they have to take blood haha I always end up being so pale that they ask me if I need to lie down for a bit! Anyway, I’m going for dinner and drinks now at the Greek place (can’t remember the name haha) with Ryan, Robin, Nikki, Martin and Mignon. Will be lovely – just hope I don’t get food poisoning this time! ;) I’m just looking forward to a nice and chilled night tonight. I’m wearing my new jacket paired with an old dress. All black and gold today.

What I’m wearing: Jacket from Mr.P / Don’t know about the dress…/ Shoes from Foschini / Earrings from Mr.P / Watch from Michael Kors / Bag (my lovely bag) from Chanel / Sunglasses from Jay Jay’s.

Unexpected shopping results..

The shopping trip to Greenacres ended like it usually does haha I came home with nothing of what I planned to buy. The reason for that is that Greeanacres doesn’t have any of the stuff I want and am looking for. But like most time I came home with a bunch of unplanned buys. Like small surprises to myself haha. I am in love with my new summer shoes from Woolworths, only reason I knew to buy them was because a friend has the same ones but with blue stripes. Also bought 2 pairs of shorts (my wardrobe was lacking in the shorts department) which I very happy about. Both pairs from Abercrombie & Fitch. My star scarf and aviator sunglasses I got at Jay Jay’s, and my chiffon-y type black see-through jacket was the biggest surprise of all considering how much I have been complaining Mr. Price and that’s exactly where I found it haha. I spotted a lot of nice shoes in there as well as workout clothes. Now what I still need is to find more tops. I can sit all day on Pinterest and Fancy and Tumblr and whatnot and think that I will be able to find all that stuff but the truth is that as long as I’m living in Port Elizabeth chances of me actually finding any of those things are very slim. I might have to start doing some online shopping again. Did a lot of that in Sweden ;)

February Christmas Presents

This afternoon a package arrived for me from my mom. All the way from Sweden to Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Only takes about 1 1/2 months haha. Good thing she didn’t send me cheese! Instead I got a package of hand made things. Hand made as in made by my mom! :)

20130204-202938.jpg
I got this lovely blanket – at the moment its lying on my bed as a throw or whatever it’s called.

Second thing I got was this hood-thingy. And as you can see my mom made it my fashion ;) Fashion by Sofie. How sweet!

The third thing my mom made are these wrist warmers, not sure if that’s what they are actually called but I’m calling them that from now on haha. They are mine so I can call them whatever I want. I could call them Bernardies if wanted to, but I don’t, so I won’t, As you can see my little logo is on them too. Fashion by Sofie. I like it. Having my own logo. Also the wrist warmers are insanely fluffy and soft. Will be nice when it’s winter (a months from now).

The final thing in my package was this….troll? Yes, a troll. Wearing earrings that I will steal from him. Not sure if my mom made the earrings as well, she said it was all hand made so I’m guessing she did. Did you?
Thank you so much for the presents mom!

I ♥ Breakfast

Excuse the hamster face haha :) Had breakfast with Ryan and Robin at Finnezz this morning. Lovely salmon and scrambled eggs. The place was quite empty but we are gonna have to go there some night for drinks cause it looks really nice since they moved. Now I’m watching a How I Met Your Mother marathon before its time to do some actual running haha. Going jogging with Nikki this afternoon – need to get back into exercising mode again. Been way too lazy for way too long. ;)

Friday – SPA day

Hey everyone :)
Didn’t really have time to blog this weekend. On Friday I went to the Boardwalk Hotel Spa with Nikki and Mignon :) it was soooo lovely! Had a hot stone massage and Nikki and Mignon had some stick massage. The girl massaging me was amazing! The spa is really lovely and we were bubbling in the pool for a bit. After our massages we ordered in a bottle of wine. After we were finished at the spa we had dinner and more wine on the hotel terrace. A super lovely girls night :)

Spray paint Picasso – part 1.

Here’s the deal right, I thought we were going to move to a new apartment here in P.E. but after checking the few available ones out we decided that the apartment we have now is way better. So we decided to buy new furniture instead and I was supposed to be fixing the whole interior decorating thing and all. But now it seems the plan has changed again and we are looking to move to Cape Town sometime this year instead. Don’t get me wrong I’m very excited about it but it means I have to wait with all my plans until we know where we’ll end up. All my ideas have to be stored away at the back of my mind for a while. The thing is I’m so into all this stuff right now and so I figured if I can’t redecorate this place then I’m gonna make my own painting. Yesterday I went out and bought spray paints and a canvas and stuff and this morning I let my inner Picasso out ;) The painting is far from ready but I love my little project.
I need to buy some more black paint before I can continue.

Happy New Year!

Image

Haha I know it’s a bit late to say Happy New Year, it’s not THAT new anymore but since it’s my first post of the year it seemed perfect to mention. So a lot has happened since my post but I’m not gonna tell you about everythingDecember was amazing though and there will be a post about it later.
Now I’m back in Port Elizabeth planning 2013. Lots to think about and do.
Was supposed to be detoxing and stuff but seriously that’s just not fun haha so instead I’m just just gonna be making bit healthier choices. I don’t feel like giving up everything I like to be healthy. Healthy surely must mean being a bit unhealthy and happy? I love my reasoning. However, it is time to start working out again. Nikki and I are now going to start training for a half marathon. I’m very excited about it! : ) We are starting next week. Feels like 2013 is going to be amazing – so far it has been excellent. Wishing all you guys the best year ever : )

Peace Love and Happiness

Cape Town baby!!

Road tripping with Ryan : ) Port Elizabeth to Cape Town. 4 weeks holiday dolls – amazing!! Tomorrow my dad and his wife gets here and are gonna spend 2 weeks in CT with us before they leave for Thailand. Excited! First time they meet everyone ; )

No makeup post

20121212-132546.jpg
Today’s shopping was ok : ) got there in time to beat the cray cray lines! I’m not really a fan of Mr Price, especially not of their shop in Greenacres, cause they are always so disorganized and packed with people and only have like 2 peeps working. Not a very nice combo – I always feel like running away as soon as I step inside the door. Not saying all their shops are crap, it might be that the ones I’ve been to have been the worst ones. Anyway, I went in and grabbed the stuff, stood in line for 15 minutes, paid and left. But how cute are my new leopard shoes?? : )

20121212-132630.jpg
I also got a new pair of workout pants from Nike that I love, some new underwear, fluffy slippers, workout t-shirt and a pair of basic black ballerinas. Decided to try a couple of new things as well – Garnier B.B. Cream Miracle Skin Perfector and L’Oréal Collagen Filler for fuller lips. Hard to see any real difference with collagen filler but the B.B. cream made my skin look amazing : )

20121212-135819.jpg

I guess that’s also hard to see in the photo haha. And yes – I am wearing my new hoodie today again haha. No makeup photo – excuse the psycho look!  But seriously – try the B.B. cream I really recommend it.

Now it’s time to keep up with the Kardashians ; ) and wait for Ryan to get home. I’m gonna force him to do a face mask with me haha we need to look cute tomorrow – it’s our 4 year anniversary. I got a few surprises for him that I will share with you guys tomorrow. Later peeps!

Tuesday shopping and chilling

Hey everyone :) Hope you all had a nice day! I went shopping at Greenacres this morning – got a another lovely birthday present from Robin so I could shop shop shop :) :)
Found a few things, but will go back tomorrow. I realized that it is waaaay to close to Christmas haha everyone is in the mall doing their Christmas shopping and it gets insanely busy. I hate busy malls with a passion! Could only manage 2 hours before I desperately had to get out. Tomorrow I’m gonna try to be there just as they open – be one of the first people in so I can avoid the crazy long lines. Anyway, here’s what I got:

20121211-183051.jpg
A new Nike dri-fit cap for when I’m out jogging. And a peach colored hoodie from Pineapple.

20121211-183226.jpg
Lovely new sandals.

20121211-183313.jpg
A tank top to work out in.

20121211-183404.jpg
A pair of wedges.

I also got Ryan a pair of Adidas shoes. Super cool ones : ) They look way better than in this photo – took it in the shop haha.

20121211-183614.jpg

So we will see if I can find something else cool tomorrow. I also need to do some Christmas shopping… guess I’m just as bad as all the other peeps running around the mall haha sure they would also love for it to be less busy.

Weekend stuff

Had a really nice weekend :) On Friday Ryan and I had dinner with Martin and Nikki at Newscafé by the boardwalk. The food was excellent! Some band was playing and and lots of people walking around. They have made the place really nice with the water show fountains (or whatever it is called) and the little shops everywhere. Made a mental note to go and check the shops out.

20121210-095037.jpg

On Saturday Ryan, Martin, Nikki, Matt, Mignon and I went to watch the rugby at the stadium. Was super cool with all the dressed up people. I think we all wished we had dressed up but it was awesome anyway. My fav ones were the people dressed up as the Simpsons haha. The weather was almost too great hehe the sun was shining and it was crazy hot – the beers went straight to my head ; )
After the rugby we went to eat at a Greek restaurant and the food there was yum! Everyone else went on to go out but I wasn’t feeling so great so I stayed at home and went to sleep. Food poisoning – very uncool. Sunday we chilled at Martin and Nikki’s house watching movies and eating Chinese food and Mc Donald’s : )

It’s been a while…

So I haven’t posted anything since I got to Cape Town. Now we are back in Port Elizabeth again – have been for over a month. Cut back on the drinks (except for a few heavy weekends here) and the super unhealthy eating. But not quite back to normal yet. Mostly cause I can’t exercise – fell into a ravine and hurt my knee pretty bad so can’t run or jump around :( Well ok it wasn’t so much a ravine…more like I was struggling in the dark and fell 2 meters onto a nasty half concrete like surface. Anyway…! This weekend we are having a combined birthday party for me and Martin, his birthday is tomorrow and mine is on Monday. It’s all 70′s themed and disco decorated :) I’m so excited its not even funny!!!!
Here is me trying on my wig and hat that I will be wearing:

Cape Town – the first week

Hello again my lovelies! I have been very absent and non-blogging since we left Port Elizabeth. But for a very good reason – Beer. Haha :) It has been lots of fun this week, the last week before the Ryan and Robins surf trip to Indonesia. And after a heavy night last night I said good bye and off they went this morning. 32 days. Crazy! :)

We have been drinking beer every day this week because it was a holiday and all, also because every second word Robin said was ‘Beer’ haha. So now it’s time to calm down a bit, get back into healthier habits and explore this city! Not saying I won’t party, I just won’t party all the time, party all the time, party all the tiiiiiiiiime – like Eddie Murphy’s girl wants to. Haha lame I know but anyway….

Here are a few photos from yesterday’s drive with Ryan, Robin and their parents.

Stopped for some ice-cream after lunch.

Last night turned out to be a little bit heavier than planned – and I am feeling it today. I wasn’t dressed for party (wearing a 3/4 sleeve baseball t-shirt, black pants and heels) but that didn’t stop the little party animal inside me from rocking and partying like it was 1999 (Yes that was a Prince reference). Good night though :) But I don’t feel like leaving this bed today haha just thankful that Robin had to get his hair cut and came home with something to eat. Spinach and feta bread, Pringles in 3 different flavors, KitKat and apple juice. Yum.

This is how I’m feeling…just a little less fabulous…

Last friday in Port Elizabeth – for a while.

I can’t believe it’s only 4 days left before we leave to Cape Town! I am so excited!! :) Still have to pack, but think sunday is a good day for that.  These 3 months here in Port Elizabeth just flew by, feels like we just got here. Lately I have been feeling so happy and excited about everything, love it. I think the weather has had something to do with it, the heat and the sunshine is good for me.

Having gone a bit overboard with the exercising this week ended with me having a fever yesterday. My body’s way of saying ‘Chill out!’. But today I am feeling hundreds again and will take it easy with todays workout. Instead of jogging/power walking 25K (like I did on monday) I will just follow Tracy Anderson’s moves on one of my dvd’s. She always manages to make me kick my own butt haha. I was actually looking to buy her Metamorphosis dvd’s but it turns out that you can only get them from her own website http://tracyandersonmethod.com/. With all the weird customs rules and charges and stuff I’m gonna pass on those dvd’s.

Later today there are hellos and goodbyes to said over drinks at Bridge Street Brewery. Lovely weather today so it will be the perfect place :)

A surfing kind of Wednesday

I started my day by eating a healthy breakfast, egg white omelette and coffee… Then went for a 5K jog down by the beach. Awesome. Went back home and put on one of Robins old wetsuits and went surfing for an hour with Ryan. More awesomeness. Got back and had cookies and pringles. Not so awesome. And have since been feeling kind of crap. Like I have a fever almost. So I have been lying in bed drinking tea while the guys are playing games. Didn’t expect surfing to be so tough on my poor little body! Ryan just said it might have been too much sun for me today. It was nice though :) Being pushed onto waves and pretending I was flying with my arms wide like they were my wings and the surfboard my plane haha. I’m so normal, I’m in the water on a surfboard pretending that I’m flying on clouds instead of white water. I did manage to get two waves on my own without being pushed – tough work for my arms. No way I’m standing up on that thing with my balance all over the place. Maybe if I had one of those stand up paddle (SUP) boards… I really wanna try that! A better fitting wetsuit would have been cool also, so the freezing water don’t leak in everywhere. Even my feet hurt now… surfing is not for me, but a great workout! Anyway, time to watch a movie and then sleep. Haha wanted to say time to go to bed but I’m already in bed! :) Good night! xoxo

Lunch at Bridge Street Brewery – Outfit of the day

I kept my promise to myself and went jogging this morning :) Did a 8K jog/power walk. It was a beautiful morning and after my jog I was feeling on top of the world and have been all day really, in such a good mood. Went for an early lunch at the Bridge Street Brewery with Ryan. I feel like we go there a LOT, and we do, but I mean why not when the food is super yum and the place is really cool. I was told by my dear boyfriend today that no one really says ‘super yum’ which I thought was crazy so now I’m going to say it more often just because haha. Anyway, I had a super yum lovely greek salad, trying to be healthier and all but I suspect it really wasn’t all that healthy cause I mostly just ate the feta cheese and the olives, and to finish it all off I had a KitKat haha. Ryan had the bread board and home made style fries (chips). The bread board is probably the best thing to eat at Bridge Street Brewery, if you don’t eat meat cause I really wouldn’t know what the meat is like.

Outfit of the day: Sweater from YDE, Sunglasses from MNG / Mango, Leggings from Von Zipper, Belt from Foschini, Shoes from Mr.P./Mr. Price, Bag from Chanel and my lovely new (got it yesterday) bracelet from YDE / Young Designers Emporium.

Back from WordPress fail

Hello guys! I haven’t been able to blog since friday, for some weird reason wordpress just didn’t want to work. It took me forever to try and load a page and my Dashboard didn’t work at all. Not much new to tell you about… had a power failure on saturday from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm. Partying in the dark haha. Robin, Ryan, Preller and I had a few beers in the dark while using up the battery life on our MacBook Pro’s and iPads. On sunday we watched some movies and chilled. Loved ‘John Carter’ and ‘Contraband’! Not sure I was loving Kate Beckinsale as a blonde, but she’s a good actress anyway.
Today has been really nice, went for lunch at ‘the Coachman’ with Ryan to celebrate our 3 years and 8 months together. Had a lovely meze platter with hallumi, calamari, mushrooms, fries and salad. YUM!

Thank you Mother Nature

Had a very chilled Friday. Mother Nature heard me and gave us a beautiful day here in Port Elizabeth. Spent most of the day on the balcony in the sun listening to music. Wonderful. A perfect day to do nothing. Can’t wait for tomorrow when Martin and Nikki gets back from playing with the Big Five! I’m not jealous… I just wanna play with giraffes. Nikki and I already played with lions back in 2009/2010. Anyway people, see you later :)
Hope you all have a lovely weekend :)

Women’s Day Lunch With the Guys.

Lovely day today – Woman’s Day and all :) We decided to go for lunch and enjoy the sunshine on the balcony at ‘The Kelway Hotel’. Turns out that there is absolutely nothing vegetarian to eat there so we just had a beer and chilled for a little while.  I think Robin needs couches like these on his balcony :)

What I wore today: Top from H&M, Pants from Von Zipper, Bag from Chanel, Shoes…?, and the belt used to be my moms.

After The Kelway hotel we went to eat at ‘the Coachman’. Enjoyed the view and spotted a few dolphins in the water. I had this amazing starter for lunch called ‘Avocado Ritz’, basically avo with prawns, lettuce and dressing. We all ate a bit too much but it was so nice!
